Homelessness or at risk of homelessness

In the communities of North Hills and Pacoima homelessness was not a visible issue as there were no apparent signs of a transient population. We were exposed to the downtown and industrial areas, as well as neighborhoods, and while the areas seemed low-income there was a minimum standard of living in place. Please note that this is a topical overview of a classic picture of homelessness and does not include displaced individuals who may be living in cars or with friends and relatives. The risk of homelessness may be high because of low income, high drop out rates and fewer resources. While risk for homelessness is high, individuals in these areas may be insulated from homelessness by programming infrastructure and community support.
